‘Switched at Birth’ season 4, episode 11 spoilers: How is Bay reacting to breakup?
There are a variety of different stories that you can expect to see unfold throughout the fourth season of “Switched at Birth” (which picks back up on Monday night), but at the moment one of the biggest ones seems fairly clear: We’re going to have the character of Bay reacting to what happened between her and Emmett … and she’s not going to be doing too great. Can you really blame her? This is such a difficult thing to recover from, and it may take her a little bit of time before she really feels like herself again. First, it was what happened between her and Tank; now, she has to deal emotionally with this, and we’re sure that Tank is not entirely out of her head yet, either.
In previewing the arc ahead to TVLine, executive producer Lizzy Weiss made clear some of the emotions that Bay is going to be dealing with in the early going:
“Bay is not coping … Bay is being terrible. I wanted to be real to this whole heartache of being broken up with unexpectedly — especially at that age, but at any age — [and] dive into the sadness and the hurt and confusion and the replaying in your head again and again of, ‘What happened? What went wrong? What could I have done differently?’ I just thought seeing her spin out would be so real.”
As for what else you can expect to see throughout the course of the premiere, there will be an unexpected pregnancy, and you’re going to see how Daphne continues to handle her relationship. She’s in a very different place than Bay, but she may still have some struggles of her own.
