‘Chicago Fire’ season 4 spoilers: First details on Steven R. McQueen’s character
Over the course of this summer, we learned for the first time that Steven R. McQueen had booked his first major role since being a part of “The Vampire Diaries” and his new role will be on “Chicago Fire,” where he was going to play a new firefighter who enters the world of Firehouse 51. Based on what we’ve heard right now, it is looking like it is going to be a pretty rough start for his character of Jimmy Borelli.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, show executive producer Matt Olmstead makes it clear that after he shows up late on his first day (and is wrapped in toilet paper and duct-tape courtesy of his brother, a firefighter from another house), “he’s summarily told to hit [the road] by Boden … He has to work his way back to the good graces of Boden to try and get back in 51.”
Ultimately, we do like these sort of redemption stories with the show, and we get a feeling that this character is meant to be a pretty good person, who just got off on the wrong foot. Therefore, we’re not entirely concerned that we are going to see Jimmy become some sort of villain near the end of this season. The majority of the characters on this show are inherently good, but they have flaws and sometimes make very bad decisions as a result.
New episodes of “Chicago Fire” are going to start airing starting on October 13 on NBC. We’re going to have some more news as we get a little bit closer to that date, so stay tuned!
