‘Mistresses’ season 3 spoilers: Expect a big finale cliffhanger
There are two episodes left on “Mistresses” season 3, and based on some of what we are hearing right now, it appears already that there is one thing in particular you really should expect: An ending that drives you potentially up-the-wall insane in terms of what the writers could be bringing to the table for a potential fourth season … provided they get one. ABC has not really commented on the show’s future, but clearly the writers and producers have more of the story that they want to tell.
In a piece following tonight’s episode airing on TVLine, executive producer K.J. Steinberg made the following statement on the subject of whether or not they wrote the finale as a possible series finale to go along with a season one:
“We didn’t. The way that the room works and the way our schedule works, it was so long ago that we mapped it out, and we just wanted to write with the hope for a future. Plus, we’re never one to do our season enders with anything tied up in a box. You know us.”
Steinberg also teased that the biggest cliffhanger at the end of the season will be pertaining to Joss, which is probably not great news when it comes to whether or not she can get out of prison and happy at the same time. We admit that given last year’s cliffhanger was also Joss-heavy, we thought that the show may shake it up a little bit and give one of the biggest reveals to one of the other characters.
