‘Dancing with the Stars 21’ spoilers: Derek Hough, Peta Murgatroyd, more to return
sWhile ABC is not being entirely forthcoming at the moment when it comes to announcing their roster of celebrity performers for “Dancing with the Stars,” we do at least know today who the vast majority of the pro dancers are going to be.
It was already unveiled that Karina Smirnoff would be coming back on the series for the first time in over a year this fall, and on the women’s side she will be joined by Witney Carson, Peta Murgatroyd, Allison Holker, and Sharna Burgess. These are all women you know pretty well at this point thanks to the past few seasons. Next to Karina, Peta is the longest-tenured of the announced female pros this season.
As for the men, both Derek Hough and Mark Ballas will be returning once again, as will reigning champion Val Chmerkovskiy. Artem Chigvintsev is also back, but we figured this was the case since he and Peta were on a promotional poster that was already sent out for the new season.
As you figured out by now, this is only nine pros, and there are bound to be at least a couple more announcements coming. Maybe the remaining dancers are going to be newcomers to the show, though personally we’d like to see Keo Motsepe back with someone who has a good chance of getting far in the competition. We knew from the moment she was announced last season that Charlotte McKinney would probably not be long for the ballroom, but at least she did last longer than an episode.
