Is ‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 6, episode 11 new tonight on ABC Family?

Tonight marks the first time in a long time that fans of “Pretty Little Liars” are going to be missing out on something airing on ABC Family. Specifically, there is no new episode coming on the air.

So why are we not getting more episodes this summer? Logistically, it is a fair question when many past seasons have run for around 24 episodes, and that therefore had more episodes airing in the summer. The difference here is most just that for one reason or another, the show is only making 20 this year. to a certain extent, this does make some sense to us. We imagine that everyone at a certain point would have to be exhausted with continuing to put out so many episodes of the show over the course of the year. Maybe some wanted a chance to work on some other things during a longer off-season.

Ultimately, there will be some more new episodes airing until January (no holiday special this time around), but when we get around to that point the show is going to fulfill the whole prophecy of jumping forward five years in time. The Liars have returned to Rosewood in order to help Alison, who is now a teacher. There’s no word just yet on who is after them, but a new threat seems to be on the way.
