‘Doctor Who’ season 9: New photo focuses on Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman, and action

Are you ready for Saturday, September 19? We definitely are, since this marks the date for new “Doctor Who” episodes. Admittedly, it is still a ways away, but at least the folks over at the BBC are doing what they can to make that wait feel a little bit easier.

Below, you can see Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman front and center in what is an action-packed image from the new season, which is going to feature a more thrilling side for The Doctor and Clara than what we saw at times during the eighth season. While the story for season 8 was plenty fun and at times emotionally, these two characters may throw caution to the wind now even more so than they did over the course of this past season. They know one another better now than they did before.

For the most part, though, the finer details of the ninth season are still under wraps. Of course, there is some news when it comes to Maisie Williams appearing on the show, and also that there will be some more two-part episodes that are coming up to go along with that.

Hopefully, we’ll have some more news to go along with all of this very soon. For the most part, we imagine that there are some more trailers, photos, and other good stuff coming up at some point over the weeks ahead. As for whether or not season 9 will be the last for either Capaldi or Coleman, that is something we’ll hopefully find out before the British press decides to turn it into a field day.
