‘Jane the Virgin’ season 2, ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ premiere dates moved up

The wait to see more of “Jane the Virgin” on The CW just got a little bit smaller. Today, the network confirmed that the second-season premiere of the Gina Rodriguez series has been bushed up to Monday, October 12. Not only that, but it is going to be followed directly afterward by the premiere of “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.”

We are honestly not sure why the two series originally were set to premiere a little later in October in the first place, given that the majority of the other CW shows were starting up at any point from October 6-9. Our intuition tells us that more than likely, it had something to do with the production cycle for “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” which underwent several changes before emerging in its current, hour-long form for this network.

To us, “Jane the Virgin” is going to be a particularly curious case for The CW moving into the new season, and there are a pair of different reasons for it:

1. We’re going to get an enormous chance in order to figure out whether or not the show’s ratings can increase as a result of all of the critical acclaim to has received over time.

2. If it is at all possible that it can avoid the dreaded sophomore slump, the very thing that has caused so many other very good shows trouble in the past. Ultimately, it has to do almost everything that it can to steer clear. of those problems.
