‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3 spoilers: ‘UnREAL’ star Constance Zimmer lands recurring arc

ShieldIs there a busier time in Constance Zimmer’s career than right now? We’re not sure that there is given that she is appearing on “Complications” soon, has the finale of “UnREAL” coming Monday night, and is also now set to appear in the third season of Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD.”

As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, Zimmer is going to recur, starting in the premiere episode, as the head of a mysterious government organization that will clash early and often with Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the others at SHIELD. We’re not sure that we can classify her as a villain per se, but Zimmer is very good at tackling these sort of morally ambiguous characters who have a mixture of good and wicked intentions. Just take a look at Quinn on the Lifetime drama!

For the most part, news on “Agents of SHIELD” season 3 is fairly generic, save for that there will be a time jump of a few months, Bobbi Morse and Lance Hunter are going to still be around (at one point there was talk of a spin-off), and Skye will be more Daisy Johnson than ever before, and have a new haircut to go along with it. The Secret Warriors are going to be a huge part of the story.

The new season of “Agents of SHIELD” starts in September. Let’s hope that this guest-starring gig for Zimmer lasts a little longer than Lucy Lawless’ one did last year; at this time in 2014, we thought that we were going to see more of Hartley than her appearing in the premiere, getting killed off, and then surfacing later via flashbacks.
