‘The Mindy Project’ season 4 spoilers: Kunal Nayyar of ‘The Big Bang Theory’ to guest star

Kunal Nayyar has made a name for himself on “The Big Bang Theory,” but he obviously does still have a thirst to flex some of his acting muscles elsewhere. How else to you explain some of the news that we have today?

As first reported by TVInsider, the actor best known for playing Raj on the CBS comedy is off to appear on an episode of Hulu’s newly-acquired “The Mindy Project,” playing interestingly enough a love interest for Mindy Kaling’s character. Why is this interesting? Well, she already has Danny in her life, and there is certainly plenty of incentive for them to be together going into the fourth season given that they’re in love.

The reason for Nayyar’s character Sendhil, who is a hedge-fund manager, has quite a bit to do with the presence of Mindy’s parents, who are going to be played by Ajay Mehta and Sakina Jaffrey. This is an attempt at her parents trying to recruit the right guy for her. We’re not surprised to see a story like this and there is also the potential for some great comedy here.

With that in mind, what are the odds that Mindy actually goes for the guy? By our estimation, more or less next to none given that she has no real need to pursue him at the moment, and Kunal already has quite the job over on CBS. He is a regular over there, and making more money than the majority of TV stars would know what to do with.

“The Mindy Project” season 4 is also going to feature a guest appearance by none other than Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
