‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: The struggle ahead for Hook, Emma

At this point, should it really be much of a surprise that there are some tough times ahead for our favorite characters on “Once Upon a Time” season 5? We don’t quite think so since we’ve watch 4 seasons of them overcoming all kinds of horrible obstacles to find their happily ever after. This time around  we’ve got Emma Swan in full-on Dark Swan mode, and we know that it’s going to be an incredibly difficult time for the people that love her to bring her back to the light.

Specifically, there will be some relationship trouble between her and Captain Hook. This is something that Colin O’Donoghue himself shared in a chat with PopSugar, where he described a little bit of what the struggle is going to be coming up for his character as he has a woman in his life who he loves, but she is possessed with something that is changing her into something else:

“I think he is fully invested in this relationship, in being in love with Emma, and I think he’ll do whatever it takes to try to bring the woman he loves. It’s the same way that Belle loves Rumpel, even for the darkness that’s in him. It’s going to be interesting with Hook figuring out a way to bring Emma back and whether or not he can do that — or whether or not he’ll decide to go back to the darkness. That’s where his struggles are going to be, I think.”

The real question that you have to think about here is not just what can be done to save Emma, but what the consequences of these actions will be. If there’s magic involved, just remember the show’s classic slogan about the “price” that comes along with it. What will Emma’s price be?
