‘Halt and Catch Fire’ season 2 finale spoilers: Details; plus, season 3 renewal hopes

Is next week’s “Halt and Catch Fire” episode going to be the series finale for the show? We really hope not. The ratings are low for the series, though, and while it is critically acclaimed, there may also be a tipping point somewhere in here. There has been no word yet; our hope would be, given that AMC is promoting next week as a “season finale” and not a “series finale,” is that we’d get at least one more season that can be labeled as the end, if there is little confidence the numbers can improve. We’d be fine with that, since obviously season 2 was not really crafted to be the end.

As for the story itself airing next week, let’s just say that the drama may boil over after Gordon’s psychological condition could split his family apart, and Cameron has to reassess everything at Mutiny. while she had one victory against Jacob Wheeler, she may have also lost both Bosworth and also Tom.

Per TV Guide, take a look at the synopsis for the finale below:

“Gordon aids Joe as the Clark family descends into crisis. Meanwhile, Cameron envisions a new future for Mutiny that may not include everyone.”

Let’s just hope that by the time we make it to the end of the finale, we’re left with some sort of emotional punch that at least gives us a sense of where these characters could end up, that way we are reasonably satisfied even if there is no renewal in the end.
