‘Supernatural’ season 11 spoilers: ‘The Mentalist’ alum Emily Swallow signs up
You saw Emily Swallow recently on “The Mentalist” season 6 as Kim Fischer; now, she is getting set to head more into “Supernatural” territory.
As first reported by TVLine, Swallow has booked a major recurring gig on the CW show’s upcoming 11th season, and will be a formidable opponent to Sam and Dean Winchester in Amara. She is powerful, seductive, and calculated enough to know the right moments to strike and the right moments to lay back. Maybe it is too early to officially give her the label of “Big Bad,” but it does feel very much like she will be someone the Winchesters face off against almost right away.
At the end of season 10, we were left with the images of the brothers being faced with impending Darkness … and that was it. Show boss Jeremy Carver made it clear at Comic-Con that whatever the threat is for season 11, it will be something that unites Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki’s characters rather than tear them apart. That’s a welcome change from the last two seasons, which were incredibly heavy on secrets shared between the two.
Swallow’s TV credits also include “Southland” and “Ringer,” and for those of you longing for more alumni, we’ve already heard that producers are looking for innovative ways to introduce some familiar faces into the show at some point this season.
“Supernatural” will premiere on The CW Wednesday, October 7. Jensen Ackles is directing the first episode in production, but it will be the third one to air. That confuses much of when Swallow will actually first appear.
