‘Game of Thrones’ season 6: Conleth Hill speculates on Varys, Tyrion in Meereen

Game of Thrones -The last time that you saw Tyrion Lannister anywhere close to in a position of power, it is when he was serving as the Hand of the King during season 2 of “Game of Thrones.” Is he getting close to being in that sort of power position once again? He and Varys are at least going to be taking on a major part in the city of Meereen in the immediate future, and what they decide will shape how that town moves forward after the Sons of the Harpy tried to stake their claim and assassinate everyone in power.

With Ser Jorah and Daario now off trying to find Dany, we’re going to see these longtime allies-of-sorts being key advisers to the city. Speaking to i09, Conleth Hill (who plays the part in extremely underrated fashion) details some of what could come ahead for his character … and also what is probably motivating him at the moment:

“They’re now left in the position, at the end of series five, where they have to restore order to a city that’s in chaos. I think that’s their challenge, primarily. And they’ll probably have a bit of quipping and b***hing along the way … I think he likes the challenge. I think he likes getting a city in order, and using everything, all of his faculties and his spy network to get that ball rolling.”

The major thing that we want from Varys over the course of season 6 is simply more of him. This is a guy who was severely underrepresented at times over the course of season 5, and disappeared after Jorah captured Tyrion until the very end.
