‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 7 spoilers: ‘Insurgent’ actor cast as Malcolm

“The Vampire Diaries” is definitely not waiting for a long period of time in order to reveal who at least one of their latest guest stars is going to be. Then again, the actor took advantage of the opportunity to break the news himself.

In a post on Twitter, Justice Leak, whose credits include “Insurgent” as well as “Powers,” revealed that he is going to be a part of the first episode back. Executive producer Caroline Dries has penned this particular installment, and hopefully it is one that will send us down a really great road for the rest of the season. We knew that the series was going to need to secure a variety of new names and faces for the upcoming season, if for no other reason than the sole fact that there were many departures. Nina Dobrev, Michael Trevino, and Steven R. McQueen have all exited over the course of the past year.

The only thing that is known for now about Leak’s character is the name: Malcolm. Maybe he is a new villain and someone to be feared. Whoever he is, though, we will be watching closely.

Based on what we have heard, season 7 is going to be a very big one for a variety of the show’s characters, but at the very center of everything will of course be the Salvatore brothers as they figure out their next move in life. Also, get ready for more Caroline now that Candice Accola is the leading lady of the show.
