‘Madam Secretary’ season 2 spoilers: Madeleine Albright to appear as herself
When the second season of “Madam Secretary” premieres on CBS this fall, prepare for someone very familiar to many longtime followers of American politics: A real-life former Secretary of State!
The network confirmed on Tuesday that Madeleine Albright, who held this particular position for the Bill Clinton administration from 1997 until 2001, is going to guest-star as herself on an upcoming season 2 episode. Albright and star Tea Leoni have already met, and she has probably been a great source of some information for what it is like to be in this pretty incredible position. We know that Elizabeth McCord has had several struggles on the show that at least have to echo to a certain extent some of what Albright went through in real life.
For the most part, though, filming on season 2 is going to be under wraps this summer, at least prior to the show getting close to its October premiere. Given that McCord has spent a little more time in her position now, you’d think that she would be even more equipped to handle this position … right? Well, the funny thing here is that in actuality, we would not be shocked if she is being forced to deal with even more problems than she has previously. This is not an easy job, and the public eye could be on her more than ever thanks to her daughter Stevie’s choices in who she wants to date.
Stay tuned, as we’ll have some more scoop on the show soon enough!
