‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: New armor for Stephen Amell’s Oliver, more Comic-Con updates
As it turns out, this new look was inspired in part by comments that Stephen Amell himself had about changing things up. Take a look at what executive producer Marc Guggenheim had to say on the subject to E! News:
“Once the design was finished, we shared it with Stephen and Stephen had a really great suggestion … He’s like, ‘I’m probably going to regret saying this when the winter comes, but what about making it sleeveless like the comics?’ And I’ll be honest, I was skeptical. I wasn’t sure. It looks good in the comics, but I wasn’t sure how it was going to look on Stephen. But man, it’s amazing!”
We have to say that ultimately, we really love this. It is not only a nice homage, but it looks really different than what most other costumed heroes are wearing on TV these days. It looks a little more hardcore, and a little less like a combination of felt and leather. Don’t get us wrong: The first costume was cool too. This is just a nice change.
