‘The X Factor’ UK auditions will now start Wednesday after death of Simon Cowell’s mother

The latest news -Tragedy struck Simon Cowell’s personal life earlier this month, after it was revealed that his beloved mother Julie Brett has passed away. As a result of that ITV and the producers of the show decided to cancel the first day of “The X Factor” UK auditions scheduled in Manchester.

Now, we are getting a little bit more in the way of insight on what is happening instead. It has been confirmed now that the auditions will start on Wednesday in the city, and that Cowell will be present alongside the other judges in Rita Ora, Nick Grimshaw, and Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini. The process for prospective singers has already begun; they have selected the very good and the questionable-but-entertaining people to go in front of the judges already. There are only so many that can be seen in the span of a couple of days with the camera.

It should be noted this year that they are going back to the audition format of a few years back, where they go straight into performing in front of a live audience. We like some of the intimacy that comes with the audition room, but we also understand potentially wanting to throw people out there in front of the crowd right away.

The new season of the series should premiere later this summer, and we anticipate having much more in the way of news on it soon enough. Be on the lookout for all of it!
