‘The Good Wife’ season 7 spoilers: Jeffrey Dean Morgan in as new series regular
With Matthew Goode seemingly departing “The Good Wife” and with Josh Charles already gone, the series certainly needed some new male cast members going into season 7. Can Jeffrey Dean Morgan fit the bill? We certainly hope so.
CBS confirmed on Monday that Morgan is going to be a series-regular for the upcoming seventh season in the role of Alex, who TVLine claims is an investigator who Alicia may hire to work at her new firm. We suppose that it is possible that he could be an Alicia Florrick love interest, but there is no hard evidence of that just yet other than that fans probably want to see her with someone other than Peter by the time we make it to the end of the series.
Here is what showrunners Robert and Michelle King had to say in a statement regarding Morgan’s casting:
“We’ve loved and admired Jeffrey Dean Morgan for years … And we were thrilled to hear that Julianna did too, so it was a no-brainer to ask him to join our troupe.”
The seventh season of “The Good Wife” is going to film this summer in New York City in preparation for its October start date, and there are quite a few stories that the show will hope to tackle. For one, they will need to figure out whether or not they want they want Alicia’s new firm to be a success, and if Diane and Cary can also find success in their own way. In the wake of Kalinda’s departure, there are many loose ends.
