‘Criminal Minds’ season 11 spoilers: When does the cast return to work?
The past few weeks have not exactly been the most jam-packed out there when it comes to news on “Criminal Minds,” maybe save for the news that Aisha Tyler is going to play a big role on the upcoming episodes. Much is still a mystery, though of course that is for the most part intentional given that there is no way that CBS wants to give away much of anything in advance.
However, we can at least tell you that this coming week is a big one. Why? The cast is coming back to work! The first table read of season 11 is going to be over by the time we make it to this time next week, and Thomas Gibson and the rest of the cast will be ready to settle in somewhat. Tyler is coming in after the exit of Jennifer Love Hewitt, and AJ Cook is expected to miss some time for maternity leave during the season.
It is somewhat difficult to really get into much of what we want to see on the new season at the moment, but only because we are still for the most part so early in the process still. However, one blanket statement we will offer is that we hope to see more of a Big Bad sort of figure this time around, since it has been a while since we’ve really been intimidated by one.
Just for a quick bonus, take a look below to see how the construction for one particular set is going.

1. Make it more about the team than the unsub.
2. Profiling, profiling, profiling.
3. Drop the clunky, hokey, sappy bookends – the personal stories to be lightly seeded through and relevant to the case stories. Personally I would like to see some occasional tension among the team which would be more realistic and interesting than all the sugary “family” vibe they are fixated upon.
4. It’s about time we saw more Reid, Hotch and Rossi – hopefully AJC.s maternity leave will allow this to happen. JJ was so all over Season 10 it will nice to have a break from her.

3 things :(1) Reid gets a girl that lasts longer than 1-2 episodes. It could be someone who the audience is already familiar with. (2) The team feeling seems to have been missing lately. I don’t mind putting one agent in the forefront every once in a while, but it seems like there are 1-2 that have so much to do, while the rest of them stand around (JJ comes to mind), Also, It seems TPTB spend so much time introducing a new character that the established ones get thrown to the wayside. More team please. (3) Maybe incorporate the father/son relationship of Reid/Rossi. We get Morgan /Garcia shoved down our throats, how about R/R once in a while

I just hope they continue the Mr. Scratch episode that left us on the edge of our seats. Jarring to see Hotch in the next episode going through business as usual. Seems the writers don’t work together or care a fig about continuity.

I have to agree with you. Losing control of his thought processes like he did had to be horrifying to Hotch. However, these characters are also much stronger emotionally than most; they have to be to do what they do on a daily basis. So, that being said, I can see Hotch’s character accepting what happened to him, getting help if he felt he needed it, then filing it away and getting back to business as usual. I guess we have to assume that’s what happened…
