‘Big Brother 17’ review: The twin twist, first eviction, Kathy Griffin’s BB Takeover, a new Head of Household

Jace -There is a heck of a lot going on during tonight’s “Big Brother 17” episode, so let’s just go ahead and dive into it. We’re going to try to live-review the majority of the eviction shows this year, and this seems like a wonderful place to start after what has been a truly insane week in the game. There has been an incredible amount of craziness going on, and at times it has been very hard to figure out whether or not alliances are truly together.

Jace’s reaction – Of course, he wasn’t happy. There was no way to see all of his reaction on the show that happened on the feeds, but this did an accurate job of showing just how terrible a player he was, being reactionary and angry rather than making any strategic points as to whether or not he should stay. The biggest highlights? Him fighting with Jace, and then him confronting Audrey, who could’ve ended up being more of an ally to him.

For the most part, the show let Jace off pretty easy when it comes to his campaigning, mostly because they didn’t show him treating Steve like dirt, or some of the other tactics he used.

The Twin Twist – Everyone knew that the twins were Liz and Julia, but this was still a pretty fun package that showed you a little bit about how they were pulling all of this off. This was over at 20 minutes, which is crazy when you think about just how much footage was lost in here. At one point Julia actually did screw up and refer to “Liz” in the third-person, but that wasn’t on the show.

Eviction – Liz and Julia switched places during the show! Also, pretty entertaining last speech from Jace other than the shout-outs, since he called out the eight-person alliance and James specifically. Audrey’s got some guts, being that she was the only person who voted to actually keep Jace in the game. He tried to come off like a good guy in his interview with Julie, but to be fair we do think that he does like Audrey and most of the other players. He was just terrible at strategizing in the house.

BB Takeover – Kathy Griffin suggested a very interesting twist tonight entitled the Last Laugh after the self-promotion, which will allow her to bestow a power on the seventh person who answers the phone. This person will negate three votes. It’s an interesting idea, and it’s the perfect sort of twist that we wanted.

Head of Household – Wait, Becky won? She assembled a puzzle bearing Griffin’s face first, and so she won out of the first group. Shelli won the second, which could set up an interesting week … though we’d prefer if Becky did, just because we have no clue where her head is at. Episode Grade: A-.
