‘Big Brother 17’ live feed spoilers: Jace campaigns to Steve … by treating him like garbage

Steve -It is not often that we choose to legitimately have sympathy for a “Big Brother” houseguest. They sign up for the experience, go through the rigorous process, and they are literally paid to sit around inside of a house for our enjoyment. They make money for sleeping, and we’ve all heard that saying about how there are “thousands of people who want to take the place” of any houseguest on the show. That’s why people get so upset when there is someone who wants to self-evict.

Yet, somehow we find ourselves tonight having an incredible amount of sympathy for Steve, a guy who really is just a socially-awkward kid in there trying to fit in, and trying to also think logically in the midst of some of the noise. Steve spent a good part of the past hour being basically berated and treated like he was a pile of dirt by Jace, ironically a man on the block who needs to actually show some sort of kindness to others. Jace has zero “off” switch, and his way of fighting is being extremely combative and challenging to potential allies.

Despite the fact that Jace was incredibly awful to him tonight, probably more so than anything we saw on season 16 of the show, Steve may still want to vote for him to stay! He recognizes that Jace is a meat shield who will always be a target.

There is an outside chance tonight that somehow Jace finds a way to stay, but only if he, Austin, and Liz can really rally some of the uncool kids to join forces against the supposed members of a dominant alliance. They could feasibly have now Audrey on their side, as well. She really has no one, and this may be a chance for her to rebuild some trust after being called out by the entire house earlier.

We’ll watch this whole situation unfold tonight, but we don’t see Jace possessing the social skills or the humility to pull this off. The part of us that loves live feed entertainment wants to see him stay, but he has also been such a jerk that we at this point will be more than fine to see him gone.
