‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 6 spoilers: A case based (partly) on a true story
On the upcoming sixth season of “Hawaii Five-0,” we are going to see the implementation of some flashbacks. However, what makes this particularly notable this time is that we’re not just talking about going back to when Danny or Kono were children. Instead, we’re talking about going back centuries, to supposedly tales of pirates trying to loot Hawaii for treasure in the 1800s.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the show is basing an upcoming story around this loosely on events, and per executive producer Peter Lenkov, the show may doing its own form of “MythBusters” in determining whether or not many of the facts associated with the story are real (at least in the context of this particular series). You also will not have to wait long at all to see most of this playout:
“It took a lot of research to find this account, and funny enough it was discovered after I had started to develop the story … In the premiere, we will tell whether the story was true of not.”
Our philosophy on this sort of story is really rather simple: We’re not that invested in whether or not every fact associated with the story is true. We are mostly just out to be entertained from start to finish, and we are going to be more than happy if that happens … and we have a feeling that it will.
There are a variety of other key events that you can look forward to when the show returns this fall. We know that Catherine will be returning at least briefly, you will get a chance to see more recurring characters, and if nothing else, Lenkov offered Chris Pratt a role. The guy’s pretty busy, so no guarantees there.
