‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3 and the not-so-mysterious mystery

We given the promotional team for “Agents of SHIELD” some credit for trying to drum up at least a little bit of buzz during the summer. That is not always an easy thing to do, given that so many people are focused on a variety of other things.

However, at the same exact time the ABC team probably could have done a little bit of a better job to disguise the “mystery” that they shared below on Instagram. In what is almost a “be sure to drink your Ovaltine” moment, they told fans of the show to adjust their filters to read the secret message … though if you look closely enough, you can see the message behind Skye (Chloe Bennet) anyway. Basically, it says “Can you keep a secret?,” which is a reference to the Secret Warriors and something that we assumed the character would be up to anyway.

Cheesy as the message may be, it should not diminish some of the excitement that is out there for the new season. “Agents of SHIELD took things to another level for the majority of the second season, focusing on some big action sequences and bringing in a variety of different storylines and mythologies. Who would’ve thought we would be getting to Inhumans so quickly?
