‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5: Lana Parrilla, Sean Maguire, more coming to San Diego Comic-Con

For the fifth straight year, it is now official that “Once Upon a Time” is going to be coming to Comic-Con. Not only that, but they are bringing some of the recently-promoted actors to the proceedings for the first time with this show.

Today, it was announced that both Sean Maguire and Rebecca Mader will be joining the cast in San Diego on Saturday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m. inside the prestigious Ballroom 20. The other announced cast members include Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parrilla, Josh Dallas, Emilie de Ravin, Colin O’Donoghue, and Rumple himself in Robert Carlyle. Other than maybe Jared Gilmore, you really have the majority of the major cast members present this year! Showrunners Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz will also be on hand to tease the upcoming story and hopefully deliver at least a few surprises.

The great thing about “Once Upon a Time” at Comic-Con is that they have used this venue before to tease big events or characters on the show. Back in season 3, for example, this is where Ariel was first revealed to be coming aboard the show. Meanwhile, season 2 brought us a teaser that was all about Captain Hook.

As of right now, we know that the series is looking for Arthur, Guinevere, and Merlin to round out their recurring players, but it is also possible that there could be a few more surprises, as well. We are starting to get to the point where the show has to at least start thinking about the endgame, and we wonder if any of their decisions will be informed by that. (We’re not saying it’s ending this season or next, but come season 5 this has to at least cross your mind.)
