‘Game of Thrones’ season 6: Maisie Williams, Gwendoline Christie, Sophie Turner coming to Comic-Con

Game of Thrones -The “Game of Thrones” panel at San Diego Comic-Con is in some ways always a great mystery, since you never quite know until the panel is announced who you are going to get. Think about it this way: There’s never really a chance that you are going to get everyone on stage for two simple reasons: There are far too many cast members for this show, and filming is also happening at around the same time as the panel.

With this in mind, don’t be too disappointed that you are not getting either Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, or Nikolaj Coster-Waladu this year, as it looks like the panel, which will be in Hall H on Friday, July 10 at 2:30 p.m. Pacific time, is still going to be very impressive. Joining executive producer Carolyn Strauss and “Mother’s Mercy” director David Nutter are Alfie Allen (Theon/Reek), John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth), Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos Seaworth), Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell), Conleth Hill (Varys), Hannah Murray (Gilly), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Carice van Houten (Melissandre) and Maisie Williams (Arya Stark).

For some of these cast members, this will be their first appearance at Comic-Con, and we feel like it is a rather great group. We’re excited to see Murray talk a little about Gilly, for Dormer (who has been at Comic-Con before) to talk about what in the world is going on right now with Margaery, and for Hill to remind us why we love Varys so much.

The new season premieres on HBO most likely in the spring of 2016, and this will be the first season presumably where the show will be entirely ahead of the books, provided that George R.R. Martin does not get The Winds of Winter into stores before then.
