‘Gotham’ season 2 spoilers: Prepare to meet Amygdala

Are you ready to see a new villain work their way into the world of “Gotham“? If so, then you may find this new story to be particularly appealing.

According to a report coming in right now via E! News, the Fox series is currently looking to cast their version of Amygdala, who is a reasonably-notable character from the Batman universe. He is someone known for having slightly-limited intelligence, but at the same time incredible physical strength. We imagine that the show will find a way to work him in so that he suits the tone of the show, and is not just some guy who is going to break the mold of the show in any substantial way.

We imagine that we’re going to get a chance to meet this character under some dire circumstances, as well. Given that he is a villain, is there any way you envision him coming in at any other time?

What “Gotham” seems to be smartly doing at the moment here is rather simple, and that is bringing in villains who will be known to some longtime fans of the Batman comics, but at the same time no one that looms so large that they will completely tear apart the canon. Of course, we’re talking mostly here about villains in their prime. Of course they’ll still have younger versions of the Penguin / The Riddler / presumably the Joker moving forward.

The new season of “Gotham” will premiere on Fox a little bit later this fall, but we imagine that there will be a whole lot more to report before then.
