‘Finding Carter’ season 2 summer finale reaction: On Ben Wallace reveal and more

Are you still recovering from the “Finding Carter” season 2 summer finale? We certainly do not blame you, since it had one of the craziest surprises that the show has given us since the very beginning: Lori and David had another biological child out there! His name is Benjamin “Ben” Wallace, and we’re not talking about the former Detroit Pistons player. He is a guy who has spent some time bouncing around from place to place seemingly, and he ended up playing a huge role in the trial for Lori to get custody back of Carter.

So how complicit was Ben in all of this, and was this always a plan of Lori’s to set him up like this? These are things that executive producer Emily Whitesell commented on in a post-mortem with TVLine:

“These questions will be answered very early on in the next sequence of episodes. But [Ben] didn’t know [about Lori]. He was subpoenad. They’d been looking for him for a very long time, and Lori will claim she’d been looking for him for years, so he’ll have his own resentments about everything.”

We imagine that another key component in the final 12 episodes of this season is going to be starting to figure out how David is handling all of this, including the reveal that he has a son with a woman who has been responsible as of late for destroying the family that he has today. We’re going to assume that he’s already come clean about all of his demons, but can you really be positive of that? Probably not.
