‘Silicon Valley’ season 2 finale review: Did Hooli destroy Pied Piper once and for all

Silicon Valley -If you watched the “Game of Thrones” finale Sunday night, then you probably had a hard time for at least for a few minutes actually watching the finale of “Silicon Valley.” Luckily, this installment probably left you with a little bit of a happier feeling. The saga of Hooli vs. Pied Piper is completely over, and we now have an official winner … Pied Piper!

So what happened to get the arbitration process to completely turn around? It is all the power of a contract, and a complete mistake that Gavin Belson made when it comes Jared’s. He had included an unlawful clause in the contract that made it impossible to find work in the event he left the company. Thanks to this, the entire case was thrown out, and Gavin has zero stake in what Richard Hendricks did.

What happened from here was ultimately a hilarious sequence of events as Richard tried to contact Erlich and company to tell them to not delete the entire code, as he had told them to do it when he thought that the case was going to be lost.

As for some other hilarious moments in the finale:

1. Erlich’s decision to sell and not sell the house was tremendous. Also, the return of Ferret Guy!

2. Isn’t it nice to see Russ back on the show again? He got over the $1 billion mark, as Raviga now owns all of his shares … and the majority of the company. Who knew that they were going to be in charge now?

This was a strange end to the finale, and while it does not mean that Pied Piper is completely out of woods, having a minority share in the decision-making is far different than giving your company completely away to Gavin. The real loser here is Richard, who was fired as CEO. Sad, but not exactly “Game of Thrones” finale level sad. Grade: B+.
