‘The Leftovers’ season 2 spoilers: New trailer reveals big twist

To think, it was only a matter of a couple of weeks ago when we were starting to feel almost completely out when it comes to “The Leftovers” as a show with the potential still to be great. We thought season 1 was far too depressing, and there was way too much going on that felt like drama for drama’s sake. We also didn’t know how the show was going to move forward without the source material still intact.

Luckily, the show managed within the span of a single teaser trailer to get us completely invested again in what could be coming up. How did they do that? (Spoilers ahead.) It is really so simple as moving the show to a community that is notable in that it has zero departures. In other words, there are going to be many flocking there in hopes of something completely normal.

We have a hard time believing that this town in Texas is the only one out there without a single departure, given that mathematically it makes sense that there would be a few tiny communities out there still completely intact. Still, having thousands of thousands of people not disappear is an anomaly, and we are not surprised that there are some out there who could consider this to be, at least to a certain extent, a bizarre phenomenon.

The second season of “The Leftovers” does not have an official premiere date yet, but we imagine that it will return at some point a little later this year.
