‘Sherlock’ season 4: Who is honoring Benedict Cumberbatch now?

Sherlock season 3Let’s face it: Right now is a pretty spectacular time to be Benedict Cumberbatch. The “Sherlock” actor has done a variety of feature films, and to go along with that recently became a married man. He has also filmed a special already that will precede season 4 of the BBC mega-hit, and that could air at the end of this year.

So what could be coming his way next? How about a Royal title? The actor could soon have CBE attached to his name, otherwise known as Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. The is a prestigious honor, and one that The Sun claims is rather surprising in a way, given that this is typically a title that is handed out for actors who are a little bit further along in their careers than the 38-year old Cumberbatch:

“It’s not as though he’s a veteran actor such as John Hurt, who didn’t get the CBE until he was 64 … Benedict is clearly very talented but a CBE is normally those coming towards the end of their careers.”

Cumberbatch was reportedly first told of the honor weeks ago, and this could be a defining moment in what has been a series of defining moments for him lately.

As for those of you “Sherlock” fans, we are still some time away from learning anything further regarding the upcoming fourth season. Ultimately, we’ll just be happy so long as it is eventually released. We’re really not going to be so greedy as to ask for anything more than that at the moment.
