NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 9 spoilers: Gwen Stefani, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams returning

The latest -In what should be fairly unsurprising news to anyone, “The Voice” is keeping things relatively constant for the upcoming ninth season of the show. We are seeing no new coaches joining the fold; instead, we have the same lineup of coaches that we had for his past fall. Gwen Stefani is returning, and will come on in the place of Christina Aguilera, who was there this past season. Christina tends not to be on back-to-back seasons, so it is not too shocking to see her omitted from the last this time around. Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and reigning champion Pharrell Williams are all going to return for another go.

In a statement confirming the lineup, and the return of Carson Daly of course as host, NBC president of alternative and late-night programming Paul Telegdy had the following to say:

“With such an astounding group of coaches at the peak of their musical ingenuity and Carson returning as our host, we are thrilled for what season nine will bring … The expertise and camaraderie of this panel will provide an immeasurable experience for the artists and must-see entertainment for all who are watching.”

Of course there were all sorts of rumors about various people joining the panel throughout the past few months, but as per usual, the majority of these rumors were not exactly true. We anticipate that there will be some who are happy to see this consistency, whereas a few others may bemoan it and wish that the show would take something resembling an actual risk in the near future.

Ultimately, you cannot have it both ways with most fans.
