‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3 spoilers: Henry Simmons promoted to series regular
The official cast for Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” continues to expand! Not only was officially confirmed that we would be seeing more of Luke Mitchell next season, we now have official word that Henry Simmons a.k.a. Mack will be a series regular, as well.
This news was first reported by TVLine, and to us the only surprise is that this promotion was not quietly handed down during the second season. Simmons (no, not that Simmons) was a part of almost every episode last season, and for a time it looked like he and Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) were going to bring about a complete changing of the guard with Gonzales and the folks over at the Real SHIELD. That did not happen, and instead Mack’s role at the end of the season was holding great distrust for all things alien.
His promotion signifies that Mack will continue to have an enormous role in the series, and the main question we are left for the time being to wonder is strictly a matter of what we could potentially end up seeing from him now. Will he be an asset to Phil Coulson or a hindrance? Will we even get an answer to that quickly on the new season?
The new season of “SHIELD” will likely premiere in late September, and the format for the season will be the same: One batch of episodes, a hiatus so that “Agent Carter” can air, and then the remainder of the episodes in the spring.
