‘Major Crimes’ season 4 spoilers: First details on premiere ‘A Rose Is a Rose’

Major Crimes -Is “Major Crimes” going all Gertrude Stein on us with some of their episode titles? We feel that way upon looking at “A Rose Is a Rose,” which is the name for the June 8 premiere. This is a show that has long balanced out important cases and personal stories, and this episode is no different. It may even be a culmination to the Rusty arc that we saw so much of back in season 3 that was a personal favorite. It was something different than what most other crime series are putting on the air, and that’s one of the things we love about this show: Their perfect balance of case of the week vs main cast personal story telling.

The synopsis below provides you with hints of that, and also a few other details as to what will be the murder (or in this case murders) at the center of what the unit is investigating:

“The squad investigates a double homicide related to an ongoing string of home invasions in the Hollywood Hills. Meanwhile, Sanchez attempts to reintegrate himself in the division after his suspension over a questionable use of force, while Captain Raydor makes a fateful choice in the life of her adopted son, Rusty.”

While we would not say that the pressure is on “Major Crimes” to deliver a great season this time more so than any other, you do have to consider here that there is a new person in Kevin Reilly now running TBS and TNT, and who knows what his vision is for the future right now? We feel like it would benefit the show greatly to come out and continue to prove that this is one of the best of its kind on TV, much as they have done the past three seasons.

If you missed it, we did get official word earlier this week that the Special Operations Bureau spin-off is dead. Head over here for more news on that, and sign up here for some further TV scoop via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: TNT.)
