‘Major Crimes’ season 4: Potential spin-off ‘S.O.B’ not happening

Major Crimes -While you are going to get the fourth season of “Major Crimes” coming to TNT a little bit later this summer, it does unfortunately look already like you are going to be without a potential spin-off all about the Special Operations Bureau.

After there was a potential backdoor pilot for this show back during the third season, there was for a time a little bit of hope that a franchise that originated back with “The Closer” was going to have another important entry. However, new network programming head Kevin Reilly has confirmed per TVLine that this is not happening. A valuable thing to remember here is that “S.O.B.,” which has a most unfortunate name when you consider what else it could stand for, was not created under his watch. This was back during the Michael Wright phase, and our concern here for the most part was largely an issue that Reilly wants to come up with more of his own original concepts, and get TNT away from the crime procedural game, at least when it comes to new shows.

Ultimately, that is probably a little too early to judge, but “Major Crimes” remains alongside newcomer “Murder in the First” and also the network’s most-popular show in “Rizzoli & Isles,” which is definitely not going anywhere in the near future.

We are of course going to have more news on this and all other TNT shows as we get a little bit closer to the summer premiere date, so stay tuned!
