‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Prepare for more speedsters!

The Flash -The season 1 finale of “The Flash” certainly did a good job of driving fans up the way with one insane twist after another; as a matter of fact, we’re still trying to catch our breath. The biggest surprise of the night was the death of Eddie Thawne, a guy who many assumed was going to become the Reverse Flash based on name alone. Meanwhile, Eobard seems to at least be gone for the time being, and we got our first real tease of Killer Frost (even if it was for just a second).

Ultimately, good luck trying to get information on what is happening with Caitlin Snow and that character. What we can at least tell you for now is that the Scarlet Speedster is going to have plenty of company in some way moving forward. As executive producer Andrew Kreisberg says to The Hollywood Reporter, the nature of this finale does leave the door very much open for some crazy stuff to come during the second season of the show:

“We are going to introduce a few more speedsters next year and a bunch more villains. How they and those villains come about is part of the surprise of season two. We’re really excited. [Executive producer] Greg [Berlanti] and myself and [executive producer] Geoff Johns and the writers, the cast, the crew, the directors — we are so proud of this season of television. It really is a high mark for all of us and we feel a great deal of pressure and anxiety to live up to it, because it’s been so well received. As proud as excited as we are about everything we’ve done this year, we really are just as proud and excited for all the things we are planning coming up and hopefully people will continue to take this ride with us.”

Does this mean that someone like a Bart Allen or a Wally West could show up? We’re certainly not ruling that out, since we are definitely assuming that they are many more characters from the comics that the show would like to play around with.
