‘The Bachelorette’ spotlight: Meet Cory Shivar, developer and dad
There are a few different character archetypes that we’ve seen on “The Bachelorette” over the years. There is the guy who comes in with an emotional story, the guy who is a goofball, the guy who who has some wacky job that keeps the leading lady from taking him seriously, the guy who gets really drunk on the first night and goes home, and then the dad. There’s always at least one or two fathers a season, and they bring a different energy to the show. Sometimes they do well, and sometimes they go early. Ultimately, we don’t really see a correlation between being a father and lasting a short of long period of time. Sometimes they have a hard time winning, but they can still make it far.
Now that we’ve said all of that, let’s take a closer look right now at Cory Shivar.
Name – Cory Shivar
Age – 35
Location – Pearland, Texas
Occupation – Residential developer. The great news here is that he’s got a good job, so he’s probably locked in already with what he wants for his life. He’s probably not going off to chase being a reality TV superstar.
First Impression – He’s a father, so he is one of those guys who really should go into this with some maturity and self-awareness. He’s one of the few people we’re not going to give too hard a time to when it comes to filling out his bio, since maybe he had some better things to do.
Worst Impression – Here’s his biggest date fear: “Finding out my date’s really a dude.” Is Cory’s entire life secretly a sitcom from the 1980s or something? That line seems right out of one.
Prediction – He doesn’t have a personality that strikes us as “winner.” Instead, he’s more of the “sticks around for three weeks, then is eliminated so that he can attend to his fatherly duties” variety.
