‘Arrow’ season 3 finale spoilers: Could Ra’s al Ghul make it into season 4?

Arrow -While Ra’s al Ghul was barely present during the first few episodes of “Arrow” season 3, there has been little question about him being a major focus in the second half of the season. He has been a compelling villain for sure, but there have also been those who have felt him to be a little too abstract of a villain, especially compared to someone as cut-and-dry as a revenge-seeking Slade Wilson during the show’s second season. For the record, we have enjoyed the character and Matt Nable’s portrayal of him; the problem with this season has at times been the handling of some other characters + significant leaps in logic, even for a comic show.

So is it still possible that we could see Nable coming up in the fourth season? It certainly seems that way, at least based on what executive producer Marc Guggenheim had to say to The Hollywood Reporter:

“Matt is a great actor and he’s just a wonderful human being. I was just emailing with him the other day. We have ideas for how to bring him back next year. At the same time, if we do our job correctly, by the end of the season you feel like “OK, I’ve gotten to the point where I’m narratively satisfied with the story that was told.” With Arrow, nothing is ever permanent. Things are always subject to change and evolution, so one thing we always talk about — John Barrowman was the big bad of season one. Now look, he is a series regular on the show. Nothing is ever forever. We are just telling the end of this particular story with respect to Ra’s.”

We suppose that much of it will depend heavily on if Ra’s actually survives the finale or not. For the time being, we are a little on the fence for that; eventually, a big bad character does have to actually die, right?
