‘Arrow’ season 3 finale trailer: Does Malcolm Merlyn save the day?

When the “Arrow” season 3 finale airs on The CW Wednesday night, many mysteries will be solved! One of the ones that we can actually answer right now is who rescues the Team Arrow members from the virus … and it may surprise you.

Yep, Malcolm Merlyn is sort-of being a hero! While it looked like he was selling out Oliver Queen on this past episode, maybe this is still a part of some sort of twisted plan that the man has, one that is still not entirely clear to anyone other than himself. He rescues the Team, and in turn, Felicity seems to call upon The Flash for some extra reinforcements. We seems ready and willing to help, but also wonders if Oliver has this figured out already.

There is a good 20-25 seconds of new footage from the finale thrown into this trailer, though it does end in the same way that we’ve seen the past few promos end: With him pointing a sword at Ra’s al Ghul, proclaiming that his name is in fact Oliver Queen and not Al Sah-Him. Still, we have no idea how he plans on taking this guy out, since fighting him head-on did not exactly work the first time around.

We are excited to see how the Ra’s story is tied up, but one other thing that we are at present curious about is whether or not the show will get us to the next stage of the Oliver flashbacks. Season 2 ended with introducing us to Hong Kong, and we like to think that Oliver did not spend the rest of his time away from Starling City there.
