‘Survivor: Second Chance’: Why Kelley Wentworth is worthy of your vote
There are many seasons of “Survivor” that have a few contestants that are gone too soon, or gone thanks to some twist like a tribe swap that moves them from a great position to a pretty terrible one. Silas is the original example of that from “Survivor: Africa,” and we’d also throw Aaron from “Survivor: China” on this list. Neither one of those guys are here for “Survivor: Second Chance,” but we are very glad you can vote for Kelley Wentworth over at the official CBS page.
Here is someone who, despite being an early boot, struck us as having a good strategic mind, and enough flexibility to be able to make moves in the right situation. She is one of those who could be an interesting social study in a new season, especially one where her father Dale was not around.
Past experience – “Survivor: San Juan del Sur” (14th place)
Why you should vote for her – Because, as we mentioned, she got screwed the first time! Also, we know that she is an enormous fan of the game, has (according to Drew Christy and others) seen every episode, and probably needs this opportunity more than many others since earlier boots often don’t get these sort of chances. Just by the way that she aggressively handles campaigning, you should want to vote for her!
Why you wouldn’t vote for her – Maybe you didn’t like most of “San Juan del Sur” (understandable), you don’t remember her that well, or there are just a number of other women you’ve already decided on. We do get that those arguments can be made.
Our prediction – We liked watching Kelley on “Survivor,” but the reason she’s on our own personal ballot actually has to do more with stuff away from the show itself. She was an excellent exit interview last season, and we’ve also enjoyed all of her appearances on Rob Has a Podcast (which we are a frequent listener of). Having the podcast community behind her, plus being such a recent contestant, make her in our mind a solid bet to return.
