‘Survivor: Second Chance’: Why Kass McQuillen deserves your vote
Don’t you want a little bit of chaos on “Survivor: Second Chance“? We like to think so, which is why we are already thinking that “Chaos Kass” McQuillen has to be someone under heavy consideration for the season. She may be perceived by some as of the villain, but given the recency bias we don’t think that should hurt her too much in the voting.
Before we dive in any further, just a reminder that you can vote for your favorites here. We are going to be publishing several of these articles a day leading up to the big “Survivor: Worlds Apart” finale on Wednesday, May 20.
Past experience – “Survivor: Cagayan” (3rd place)
Why you should vote for her – Entertainment. Admittedly, we didn’t have a whole lot of hope for Kass at first last season, but she proved herself over time to be a master schemer, and someone cutthroat enough to make moves without a whole lot of hesitation. She was desired at first by her former Brains tribe members by flipping and getting rid of Sarah, but she did outlast all of them as a result. If this was a typical season, she would have been in the final three and at least had a chance to state her case.
Also, we genuinely feel like Kass is a great ambassador for the show, at least in that she’s active on social media and has a tendency to stir things up. She’s in some ways the anti-establishment “Survivor” contestant, and you always need a few of those.
Why you wouldn’t vote for her – Yes, we know that some people just don’t like Kass, and found her everything from annoying to at times mean on “Cagayan.” We don’t really agree with that, but we understand it’s there.
Our prediction – We’re not entirely sure that Kass is a slam-dunk, given that we don’t know if casual fans love her as much as hardcore fans do. She should be on “Survivor: Second Chance,” though, just for stirring the pot alone. She would probably be a target to go home early, but if she makes it past the first few votes, we feel like once again she’d be someone still around near the end of the game.
