‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 finale spoilers: All about ‘Operation Mongoose’

Robert -The finale of “Once Upon a Time” is airing come Sunday night, and “Operation Mongoose” is going to quickly prove itself to be a twisted, convoluted hour of TV. There are going to be a pretty wide array of things going on, and one of the biggest challenges will be trying to figure out if our heroes can undo what is being done.

What’s the reason for that? It largely ties back to the fact that our heroes are not even going to be acting heroic at all. A massive twist, teased in the recent promo for the episode, is going to turn many of the heroes into villains, and the villains into heroes who are capable of getting their own happy endings for a change. At the end of the day, it may be Henry of all people who has to be responsible for saving everyone. It’s been a while since he was thrust into that position.

The synopsis below is for both hours of the episode, and we have quite a bit to look forward to here:

“The Author proves to be a formidable wild card and forges an alliance with Gold. Emma, her parents, Hook and Regina scramble to stop them, but when Gold and the Author turn the tables on heroes and villains alike, the prospect of any happy outcome appears worlds away. Henry discovers he has big shoes to fill as he steps up to save his family before the story’s final page is turned. It’s a race to the finish, and everything culminates with a shocking twist that will leave the residents of Storybrooke reeling.”

As one of the executive producers recently said, one of the fun aspects about this episode coming up is that we are going to have a chance to finally see a story that actually tries to take advantage of the characters present, rather than just making a move to push in new fairy-tales that are currently popular in the Disney universe.
