‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 finale spoilers: ‘Operation Mongoose,’ heroes, and villains

You’ve been through quite a story on “Once Upon a Time” season 4, and everything is building now towards “Operation Mongoose.” You may not have heard that name much as of late, but that is the code that Henry and Regina were using in order to figure out whether or not happy endings were going to be possible for people like her.

As it turns out, really anything is possible thanks to the Author, but they still have to hope that he will do precisely what they want. At the end of tonight’s installment, he disappeared to begin work on a new book with Rumpelstiltskin where the villains get the ending that is worth smiling over rather than the other way around. It’s quite a change, and also a dangerous one.

ABC unveiled the first promo for the two-hour finale tonight, and it looks to be all sorts of entertaining for a variety of reasons. Namely, this is a chance to see Storybrooke turned completely on its head. Rumple and Regina are now the heroes, whereas Emma, Snow White, Charming, and others may now be operating on the opposite side of things. While there may be some distressed by all of this, we do at the same time find it to be a really fun concept! We’re excited to see just how the show decides to handle this.

We know that there will also be some sort of surprise ending by the end of the hour. This is not exactly a guarantee that we will meet a new character or two; instead, it is just a reminder that the town and its people are about to change again.
