‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: A fatherly moment in ‘Mother’

There are times when you do not get a whole lot of information in script teases for “Once Upon a Time,” and there is a reason for it that is fairly easy to understand: These are meant to be mere teases! If the goal was to give away anything resembling major plot points, then they would not be done.

However, there is still something notable about the newest tease released by executive producer Adam Horowitz, at least in the way that it is focusing on something that we don’t hear a whole lot about anymore: Regina’s father. Granted, much of the reason for that is that her childhood was not entirely the best. Prince Henry and Cora were not model parents to her, and she also did not exactly have the greatest childhood either. How else do you explain losing her love Daniel, and eventually being set down a path where she wanted nothing more than revenge against Show White?

The more we learn about Regina, the more fascinating it is to us. That is why the return of Barbara Hershey Sunday night should be so entertaining to behold. It is a chance to see someone very familiar to this universe, and also at the same time someone who has still many things about her under wraps.

Of course, somewhere along the line we also have to figure out if there is any bona fide way to get rid of Zelena, the Wicked Witch who we already thought was done away with. We’re still not entirely sure just how she is still alive.
