‘iZombie’ season 1, episode 8 review: Ravi falls for Peyton, Major obsessed with brains
When we last left Liv on “iZombie” her and Lowell were getting quite close, and it looks like Major is starting to become a distant memory… but just how much of a memory is he becoming? We’ve never found much chemistry between Liv and Major to begin with, so if Lowell can help her to move on, we would be all over that.
While waiting to pick up Major from jail, Ravi sees what is likely going to become his love interest: The district attorney (and Liv’s roommate) named Peyton. She has gotten Major out of jail, but his face is a horrible mess after the lesson they taught him about talking to the press. Ravi gets him up to speed on Jerome and Eddie, telling him that they are dead and Major reveals that there’s something weird going on in the city. When he gets back home, his girlfriend breaks up with him for acting so strange and she’s probably right for doing it considering that he’s looking up “brains” on the internet.
Now that Liv and Lowell have slept together (and has been giving Liv the best foot rubs ever) she has moved on from Major and even didn’t take a call from him while Lowell was over, but when she hears that Major got dumped (and went to jail) she heads over to his house to see if he’s okay and it turns out he’s also gotten fired. Major confides in Liv about the cover up he thinks is happening… and he also tells her about the human brain he found in the car. She does her best to talk him off the ledge and it seems to have worked – that is until she leaves and then he’s back to looking up “brains” on the internet.
When Ravi meets up with Liv he asks if she’s spoken to Peyton about him and she says that she thinks Peyton’s seeing someone, but will look into it. Peyton reveals to Liv that she is single right now, but when Liv tells Ravi that she thinks he’s going to get crushed by her, Ravi says that she shouldn’t judge him and let him have his moment in the sun. He calls Peyton and asks her out and she says yes. Will this last?
When Ravi and Liv go to check on their rat experiments, they find that all of the rats brains have been eaten and there is one white zombie rat that they rounded up into an aquarium. As Ravi tries to perform experiments on the rat, he gets bitten and we fear that he’s going to turn into a zombie. Then maybe our dream of Liv and Ravi hooking up might come true! Episode grade: C+
