ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4 spoilers: Another Gladiator is (finally) coming

Let’s face it: Olivia Pope should have had a sign on her office door reading “help wanted” a while ago. Harrison is dead, and Abby is working at the White House. For the entirety of “Scandal” season 4, her organization is operated at a loss, with Quinn and Huck serving as her most loyal employees. She really had not had anyone else to really turn to.

Luckily, it does appear like that will be changing at some point in the near future. According to a new report coming in now from TVLine, there will be a new member of OPA at some point in the future. What are their qualifications? Let’s begin first and foremost with the fact that they have apparently “crossed paths” with Kerry Washington’s character at some point in the past. They also are not a series regular, so it is someone we’ve seen in a guest capacity over the years.

For us, it feels like the two main candidates are Marcus (whose presence seems to be foreshadowed in some ways) and possibly Russell, though his present situation with a gun at his head could make it a little bit hard for him to take any job. The group does need some new blood, so we will probably cheer either way that someone new is brought on board. This new character could also be even more important depending on whether or not any other characters exit this season. Like with “Grey’s Anatomy,” this is a world where people can come and go … and Shonda Rhimes clearly has no problem making any sort of bold move.
