‘Dancing with the Stars’ 20: Derek Hough injured; what does this mean for Nastia Liukin?

Injuries on “Dancing with the Stars” are something that almost everyone is used to at this given point in time. They happen so often that it would be almost strange if there was not a hospital visit during a season of competition. However, nobody wants to see them happen … especially when it could mean someone’s participation moving forward being somewhat limited or completely over.

This is precisely the boat that Derek Hough finds himself in at the moment. After sharing photos from the hospital last night on social media that showed him spending the night in there, sources tell Us Weekly that he may not be able to perform in the upcoming taping of the show’s 10th anniversary special, which will feature a variety of stars from past seasons along with pro dancers. As for the future with him and partner Nastia Liukin, that is not entirely clear just yet. We hope that the two will be able to keep going, and in most cases pros do not miss a whole lot of time.

This has not been a particularly easy season for Derek to take part in, though. After all, consider everything that he has on his plate. He has been working in New York as a part of the Radio City Spring Spectacular, which at the same time also means frequent travel between the East and West Coast. Nastia has been doing the same thing, as she has been attending classes while also preparing for the competition.

Despite their busy schedules (and the injury), these two remain a favorite to win the entire season.
