‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6, episode 19 preview: Ian Somerhalder – Nina Dobrev struggle in ‘Because’
The title for the next new episode of “The Vampire Diaries” is “Because,” and now that you know that Nina Dobrev is leaving the show this season, it does paint the entire story of Damon and Elena in new light. Damon is struggling to figure out what to do with the vampire cure now that it is in his possession. After all, he has a chance to give Elena a life that she really wants without her being immortal in the process; at the same time, though, this brings them back to the same dilemma that they had at the start of the series.
This is not the only significant event befalling Ian Somerhalder’s character in this episode. As the synopsis below gives away, he has some problems ahead with Bonnie, while everyone in general has some issues when it comes to Caroline:
“Wrestling with whether or not to tell Elena (Nina Dobrev) about the cure, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) brings up their future together and what life would be like if they weren’t vampires. Meanwhile, it’s all hands on deck when attempts to stop a humanity-free Caroline (Candice Accola) doesn’t go as planned. Elsewhere, when Bonnie (Kat Graham) discovers that Damon has betrayed her trust, she takes matters into her own hands, setting off a chain of events that leaves Damon dealing with the fallout. Lastly, after being forced to face his traumatic past, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) sets out for answers and is surprised when he learns the truth about the day he was turned into a vampire.”
While most of the titles this season have tied into 1990s songs, we admittedly know “Because” more just because of The Beatles. We don’t know if that is the reference point, but it certainly is for us.
