‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11 spoilers: ‘Reign’ actor joins in mysterious role

The future -We are getting near the end of this season of “Grey’s Anatomy,” and as a result of that, change is pretty much inevitable. In this case, it means getting the chance to see at least one new face at the Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital.

According to a new report from TVLine, “Reign” actor Giacomo Gianniotti has been cast in a role that is being kept tightly under wraps. The easy assumption to make here is that he is a new intern, mostly because there are rumors about some of them coming aboard the show near the end of the season. Plus, that is one part of the show that is cyclical. We’ve already started to come to know Jo and Stephanie in these roles, and it seems time for some new faces to enter the fold.

This news comes a day before “Grey’s Anatomy” is arguably going to air its most emotional hour of the 2015 year in “One Flight Down.” On paper, it looks like this will be an episode that brings back the traumatizing memories that some of the doctors have of the infamous plane crash a few years ago; while they are not going to be directly involved this time, they will be tasked with trying to treat its victims.

One person who could really have a difficult time with all of this is Callie, depending on what her role in the episode is. While she was not in the previous crash, it was her decision in regards to Arizona’s leg that changed the relationship between the two forever.
