‘The X Factor’ UK: Olly Murs reportedly hints that co-hosting gig is his
According to the Mirror, Murs recently told some supporters at a show that they would be seeing him on TV soon enough, and then made a signal with his arms that looks a lot like an X. Sure, this is secondhand knowledge, but given all of the smoke that is already here (including Murs saying already that he has talked to Simon Cowell about the job), we have to assume that this is actually happening. Since he has also said that he would not be interested in the job without Caroline Flack, we also have to assume that she is also jumping aboard as co-host, as well. These two previously hosted “The Xtra Factor” years ago while Dermot anchored the main show.
Based on the information that we’ve heard, this is not going to be the only major change to “The X Factor” for the coming season. Louis Walsh has already announced that he is stepping down from the judging panel after eleven seasons on the air, with Robbie Williams one candidate to take over his spot. We feel like Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini’s job is safe so long as she wants it, and we have to see about Mel B.
Personally, we’re fine with everything being as-is if Robbie joins the show, and if we get the new hosts locked in. We really enjoyed Dermot, but these two are among those who would be able to adequately replace him.
