NBC’s ‘The Voice’ spoilers: Nick Jonas to perform, Reba McEntire to mentor top 12 show

The Voice -The Voice” is making one thing very clear right now, and it is rather simple: They are big fans of Nick Jonas. For the second straight season, the former Jonas Brother will be performing, think along the lines of his new single “Chains.” Nick performed “Jealous” last season, and one of the reasons he may be feeling so omnipresent at the moment is because so many of the contestants have actually performed his music over the last little while. Chris Jamison probably has the most famous cover of his music on the show with his take on “Jealous,” which happened right when the song was starting to take off.

As for who the mentor for this show will be, think somewhere along the lines of a woman in Reba McEntire who certainly has that “living legend” quality to her. Obviously, this is an appearance most country fans will like, but it really goes beyond that. Specifically, what is so great about her turning up here is that she has a big personality, and will not be afraid to speak or mind or hand out advice.

Personally, we prefer having people as mentors who know the ins and outs of the music industry really well, rather than people who maybe have one or two hits on the radio. Nick would’ve worked as a great mentor here, as well; even though he may not have the same extensive history of multiple decades, he did experience a meteoric rise to fame with the Jonas Brothers, only to then take a step back and have to figure out how to build himself back up as an entertainer. He knows what hard work means.

We’ll be ranking the top 12 over the weekend, and you’ll be able to see that along with the rest of our other coverage of “The Voice” over at the link here.
